The winged Isis Egyptian Papyrus Painting - (20X30 cm)
this goddess embodied the qualities of wifely fidelity and maternal feelings. Wife of Osiris and mother of Horus, she was known for her magical powers and was usually depicted with cow’s horns and a solar disk on her head or with a throne as a headpiece. She was one of the four ‘protector’ goddess guarding coffins and Canopic Jars, sister of Nephthys with whom she stood as a divine mourner for the dead. In the Late Period, Philae was her principal cult center.
